Gambit Youngsters and buaksib round out BLAST Pro Series Moscow CIS closed qualifier team list

The team list of the CIS closed qualifier ahead of BLAST Pro Series Moscow has been finalized with Gambit Youngsters and buaksib advancing from the open stage.

The open qualifier began on Saturday with matches up to round of 16, played in a best-of-one setting, before the best-of-three portion of the bracket took place on Sunday and determined the two teams going through.

Gambit Youngsters had been the main favorites to advance from the start and lived up to that status without losing a map in the process, beating Nikita "⁠waterfaLLZ⁠" Matveyev's EXTREMUM and Savelii "⁠jmqa⁠" Bragin's teamasd in the last two rounds.

On the other side of the single-elimination bracket, Se7en looked set for a spot in the CIS closed qualifier when they were up 1-0 in their series against buaksib and reached match point on the second map, Train, but a great comeback from Pavel "⁠hutji⁠" Lashkov's side saw the match swing the other way after a Vertigo decider.

The teams who will take part in the closed qualifier, which will be played on August 10-11 in a double-elimination bracket, are:

The two best teams from the CIS closed qualifier will advance to the Play-In match, played on the first day of BLAST Pro Series Moscow, awarding the winning side a spot in the main tournament.
